I would not be the person I am today if it weren’t for the beautiful friends I have developed throughout my life. My friends have been my rock, even when I thought the ground was falling beneath me. They are the ones who have seen me through the good days and bad and each have been someone to pour out my feelings to, someone to trust and someone to laugh with to the point of tears. I am so grateful to be able to walk alongside these beautiful people.

So, here’s to my bestfriends I have made throughout my life…

To my childhood bestfriend:
You were the first person that I loved outside my family, and quickly became my sister, always and forever. Thank you for expanding my imagination as a kid and for wanting to play with dolls and Barbies with me far past the acceptable age. We have passed so many different stages of life and even if we don’t talk for years, as soon as we do see each other, it’s like nothing has changed. You will always be near and dear to my heart….I mean you’re name is the answer to the security question “What is your childhood bestfriend’s name?”

To my high school bestfriend:
Everything in high school feels like a big deal, so thank you for sticking it through the thick and thin. A lot of people stop talking to friends they had in high school, but I am so grateful that is not the case with us! Thank you for proving that high school didn’t have to be all that bad, and for being my partner in crime. Cheers to all those nights that gave us so many stories we will always remember.

To my college bestfriend:
There is a definitive moment in which we became bestfriends, and thank you for not letting me be weird alone ever since. You are my “sista from another mista.” So, thank you for not taking life too seriously and for not forgetting about me once you got married. Thank you for being my concert buddy and always being up for anything. You always give good advice, and I am truly grateful for that.

To my adult bestfriend:
Thank you for listening to me as I complain about adulting. It doesn’t matter where we are in this world or in our lives, I know you will always pick up. Thank you for accepting me and loving me for exactly who I am. Thank you for always being honest with me, even when I don’t want to hear it. And thank you for encouraging me, even when I stumble.

To all of you….Thank you for being you and making this world a better place, just by being in it. Carrie Bradshaw once said, “Maybe our girlfriends are our soul mates and guys are just people to have fun with.” Thanks for being my soul mates. I love you all.
